Kings top Rush
The Kings overcame a slow start to beat Rush 7-3 at Quincy Youth Arena last night. After giving up a goal to Rush on their first shot of the night, the Kings scored the next four on some nice passing and good individual efforts. Paul got the scoring started with a one-handed tip-in from a pass from Bermy on the half wall, and Burger netted two quick goals, including one on a clear breakaway, deking the goalie to his forehand and then going backhand blocker side. Josh made it 4-1 in the second, breaking in down the middle and firing a quick shot low past the goalie. In the 3rd period Rush made it interesting, scoring a shorthanded goal to get back within two, but the Kings got two quick strikes from Jeff (on the power play) and Bryan to put the game out of reach late. Paul added a late goal on a nice feed from Greg to ice the game. Solid win all around, and good work by Bermy, Bob and Fran rolling three D against the speedy Rush puck movers.
