Kings got the summer season off on the right foot Thursday night in Canton with a 10-4 win over Barrett’s Ale House. These guys played us to a close game last year in Brockton so it just must not have been their night. Every King in attendance grabbed at least one point (minus Richie).
Newcomer Rodriguez had two goals in the first period, and nearly scoring a hat trick in two shifts. Rodriguez did complete the hat trick in the third. Despite his best efforts, Fran narrowly missed a hat trick as well. Josh might have had the goal of the night in the third picking up puck up on the Kings blue line, skating right around the defense, and flipping an effortless backhander by the goalie. Burger scored a back breaking short handed goal in the second to really make a comeback tough on Barrett’s. The Kings did not get a power play goal, but had several good looks on their only man advantage.
It was 3-1 after the first, but some lax defense and back checking allowed Barrett’s to tie the game at 4-4 with out 10 minutes left in the second. The Kings scored the final 6 goals.
Next week’s game in on Friday night, a night which in the past has made for some low turnouts. Who is in? Who is out? The game is at 8 PM so BRING BEER!

I’m up for heading out afterwards – yardhouse is cool, but will legacy place will be a zoo on Friday night – parking will be tough and it’s not like that place is cheap. Jake & Joe’s Sports bar is just a few minutes down the rd, also on Rte 1.

Paul makes a good point, Friday night Legacy Place is going to be busy and I fucking hate crowds. I’m up for beers in the parking lot or someplace cheap.
