Kings come up short vs. Pirates

Tuesday May 25, 2010 – Canton Sportsplex

A late rally by the Kings wasn’t enough to overcome the Pirates and the Kings lost 3-4 Tuesday night. The Kings opened the game on the right foot, with Wally potting a rebound on just the second shift of the game. The Pirates came right back to tie it up, and scored twice more to end the first with a 3-1 lead. Paul scored on a feed from Ian to bring the Kings within one, but soon after the Pirates padded their lead again with a quick shot top corner blocker side. The Kings finally got some momentum late in the third, and with Ed on the bench for the extra attacker, Alan was able to put a goal in the net five hole to bring the Kings within one again. The Kings got the puck low in the Pirates’ zone and drew a penalty, but time ran out on the 6-on-4.
