Kings lose big to Young Guns 11-2

Monday April 5, 2010 – Canton Sportsplex

The Kings gave up 10 goals in the second and third periods of the game en route to a 11-2 loss to the Young Guns in their playoff opener. Team defense was completely abandoned and Ed was left hanging, seemingly the only player interested in stopping shots on goal as the Young Guns piled on and showboated in probably the worst loss against a division opponent in the Kings’ six year history. Pete provided the 2 goals for the Kings who will now have to play out of the loser’s bracket. The Kings will have to win Friday night if they want to play again before May 3rd.

Ringers or just a lackluster effort? Suspect score to say the least.

Lackluster effort, Jim. We know the Young Guns pretty well and they didn’t have any new faces (and they’re not the type to bring in ringers). We just sucked, end of story.
