Kings edge Hackers 4-3

A solid three period effort powered the Kings to a 4-3 victory over the Hackers in West Roxbury on Thursday night.  The Hingham bus was reunited and Wally opened the scoring early in the first.  Hackers tied it up, but Jeff put the Kings back in the lead in the second on a delayed penalty going hard to the net, slipping the puck under the Hackers goalie.  Hackers tied it up again, before John put the Kings in the lead for good with a breakaway blocker side goal.  Josh netted the game winner from the crease, collecting a pass from behind the net and again sliding under the Hackers goalie.  The Hackers goalie made several tremendous saves and really kept his team in the game.  The Hackers intercepted a clearing attempt with about a minute to play to make the score 4-3, but the Kings shut the door in the last minute.  It was a well played, clean game.  Even the officiating wasn’t as questionable as usual.  Solid effort by everyone on the ice.  Next Kings game is against the (young?) Guns on Friday night.  Bring beer.
Good luck in the tournament.
