Kings drop 3rd straight game against Pirates, 6-5
Tuesday December 8, 2009 – Walter Brown Arena
After a couple of low scoring games, the Kings got into a slugfest with the Pirates but the result was the same, suffering a 6-5 defeat in a barnburner. The Pirates scored two quick goals early in the first, but goals from Paul and Burger knotted the score before the end of the first. However the Pirates made the most of their opportunities and the Kings were playing catchup for most of the game. The Pirates extended a 6-4 lead in the third before another goal by Paul bought us within one, but the Kings got into penalty trouble late in the third that stifled attempts to tie the game. The Pirates have accounted for all 3 losses for the Kings this year, and we get one more shot at them before the end of the year.
