Kings beat Guns 3-1; schedule update

Friday December 4, 2009 – Canton Sportsplex

A short bench didn’t stop the Kings, who jumped out to an early two goal lead and never looked back en route to a 3-1 win over the Young Guns. The Kings rolled with only 8 on the bench, the first time we’ve skated with less than two lines in at least a year. Frank got the scoring going with a nice shot glove-side on a feed from Paul, and Paul potted the next one on a feed from Frank. The Kings offense dominated for most of the game, setting up lots of good chances, most of which were smothered by Richie in net for the Guns, who had a hell of a game. Despite a quick strike on the power play by the Guns, right off the faceoff, Ed turned aside all the other shots and the Kings defense of Bermy, Bob and Frank played solid defense in the slot area. Jeff had a great goal from the crease, picking up a pass from Bermy and turning it to his backhand side under Richie’s pads.

Please take a look at the updated schedule page. The game listed for Monday is actually Tuesday at BU, 9:20 against the Pirates.

It might not have made the stat sheet, but Fran definitely had assists on the first and second goals.
Great win and quality hang afterwards. Great team defense and passing.
Not sure if I can make it on Tuesday night.

33 percent of our first 12 games are against these guys! The Leafs play a chump schedule and we get to play a superbowl champ strength of schedule.

I am OUT for Tuesday night. Beat these guys just in case we don’t see them until the championship game (or January).
