Kings win 7-3 over Mohawks
Thursday November 12, 2009 – Canton Sportsplex
The Kings upended the Mohawks last night in a 7-3 win. After a sluggish start to the game, the Kings’ offense got going in a big way. The Kings spotted the Mohawks an early 1-0 lead before Bermy opened the scoring with a blast from the left point. The Kings took the lead with a quick strike on the power play; Greg won the faceoff back to Bermy on the left point again, who blasted one high on net that Greg got a sweet tip-in. The Mohawks kept their breakouts going strong and the Kings gave up more than a fair share of fast breaks, depending on Ed to make some big stops on 1 on 0′s and 2 on 1′s. The Kings gave up two quick strikes to the Mohawks for their only lead of the night; it was short-lived as the Kings scored three times, capped off with Bob blasting a shot on net from the neutral zone that the goalie misplayed with just 44 ticks left in the second period to give the Kings a 5-3 lead going into the third. Two more goals midway into the third sealed the win.
