Kings beat Digitas 7-3

Wednesday July 22, 2009 – Milton Academy

The Kings exacted revenge on Digitas for the winter postseason loss with a 7-3 win last night in Milton. Digitas matched the Kings in the early going, despite that the Kings carried a 3-1 lead into the third. The momentum turned decisively in the early going, with Ed stonewalling a cross-crease pass that was ticketed for the back of the net; then, a couple of key defensive breakdowns for Digitas resulted in a pair of quick goals from Wally-Pete-Bryan line, including a slick short-side roofer from Pete who continues to pummel the opposition on the penalty kill. The Kings scored twice more in the third, including some nice tic-tac-toe from the J-line. Digitas would add two more late in the third, one on the PP.

Great game all around. Really used the full bench to our advantage. And have to give credit to Ed for making all those big saves to hold the lead when it was close and really not giving up any rebounds.
I am out for Sunday. Good luck.
