Hackers Hack Way to Victory Over Kings 6-3
Kings got out to another slow start, spotting the Hackers a quick two goal lead. Near the end of the first Bob cut the Hackers lead in half with a booming slapshot from just inside the blue line. The second period saw the Kings fail to convert on their only power play of the game. The Kings were able to successfully kill a terrible call on John, but yielded a power play tally near the end of a second penalty kill, pushing the Hackers lead to 4-1. The Kings struck twice quickly to bring the score to 4-3. Alan scored about four seconds after a face-off at center ice with a big wrister from the top of the slot. That is unfortunately as close as the Kings would get. Despite some solid Kings’ scoring chances and pressure at the end of the second period and beginning of the third periods, the Hackers clogged up the neutral zone and generally played tight defense. Kings had to open up their play in an attempt to gain the equalizer, but the Hackers put the game out of reach with a odd man rush goal late in the third. A short handed empty net goal from their defensive zone capped the scoring for the Hackers.
If I remember correctly, John and Josh are out for the game on Thursday. Remember, the game is early and in Quincy. Bring beer.
