Kings complete comeback, defeat Icemen 7-6

The Kings came out flat in an early game after a long warm-up. After spotting the Icemen a 4-1 lead after the first period (two goals for Rodriguez on very similar plays in the first five minutes), the Kings wore a short-benched tired Icemen squad down in the second period. Wally drew a penalty about halfway through the second and a key power play goal sparked a Kings’ offensive outburst to tie it up heading into the third. Shout out to the lone ref who definitely missed the Kings playing with an extra skater for well over thirty seconds. Further, great to see the Kings stay out of the sin bin for an entire game.
Pate scored through a scrum around new to knot the score at 6-6 with about five minutes to go. John scored the game winner (assists to Paul and Greg) on an improbable three-on-none. The Kings pretty much kept the Icemen pinned in their zone the final two minutes.
It wasn’t pretty, but we’ll take the win. Good to see Alan back in the line-up. Hopefully Fran can return for next week’s game with KPMG White. Hard to believe we scored so many goals without Burger in the line-up.

Hi Bryan,
I wanted to let you know I will be coming down to the game from a meeting I have in Quincy. I should be there for game time but possibly 10 minutes late.

I should be able to make it on Thursday. Glad to see such a high score. It shows the depth of our team. With Fran returning and #8 coming back we should be able to add to the score, but lower the goals against.

Congratulations on The Kings come-back victory last week!

Given the responses above, so far we will be missing #8 and Frank. If everyone else shows up we will have a perfect number of players (13) plus Ed. Is there anyone else (besides Burger and Frank) that will not be at tomorrow’s (TUES) game?

It looks like a line of Wally centering Ian and Bryan could light up the score board and keep Burger down in the Minors!

See you tomorrow night.
