Kings pick up tie against Icebergs, 4-4
Thursday February 5, 2009 – Dedham Ice Center
Pete scored with just a few minutes left in the 3rd and the Kings escaped with a tie against the Icebergs last night in Dedham. Despite opening the scoring on the first shift and extending a 3-1 lead, the Icebergs scored 3 goals in succession and held the lead for most of the 3rd before Pete’s shot from the left side found the net. John, Alan and Burger had the other goals, Burger with a nice backhander one-timed from Paul that went five-hole. Aside from the goals the Kings had a hard time sustaining offense and gave up way too many odd rushes back down the ice, but were able to salvage the tie.
Our next league game is Tuesday February 17th, 9:20pm at Milton Academy against the River Rats, but we have scrimmage time next Wednedsay February 11th at 10:00pm at Ulin Rink. Bermy is working on getting the Young Guns to skate against us but we might have a low turnout; check with Bermy and Bryan for more details if you have guys who want to skate.
