Kings tie Bulldogs 2-2

Sunday January 25, 2009 – Quincy Youth Arena

The Kings salvaged a 2-2 tie against a much improved Bulldogs team thanks mostly to Ed, who turned in yet another stellar performance robbing odd-man rushes and kicking out just about every shot he saw. The Bulldogs got on the board first, beating Ed on a 2-on-1. Alan tied the score after taking a feed from Pete below the goal line. After the Bulldogs scored on another 3-on-1, Pete banked a shot off the goalie’s skate to tie up the game. After that the goalies took over. Jeff was robbed on an open look from the right faceoff circle, the Bulldogs goalie just getting a piece of it with his glove to knock it to the corner. Ed spent the rest of the 3rd flashing the leather, snatching up every shot that went near his glove. Bob went off for checking with about 45 seconds to play, setting up a key penalty kill. The Bulldogs got one final shot at the victory with a faceoff cleanly won with 0:03 seconds left, but the shot ended up in Ed’s glove as time expired.
