Old school Kings win 2-1 against Eastcoast Bulldogs

Sunday October 26, 2008 – Canton Sportsplex

The Kings broke out the finesse game against the Bulldogs, running the game with speed, passing and a ton of solid chips on goal. After a scoreless first half of the first period the Bulldogs broke through on a two-on-one that found the five hole on Keith. The Kings bounced right back and put tremendous pressure on the Bulldogs goalie, who time and again came up huge with stops that probably should’ve been goals. But Pete finally broke through on a scrum in front of the net, evening it up.

The Kings traded some penalties with the Bulldogs and managed to pot the gamewinner from Jeff on the power play. That would be all we needed for the win as the defense held tight, seriously limiting the Bulldogs’ chances in our zone. The offense continued to work hard, moving pucks up ice with some deft passing, and peppering the Bulldogs goalie who turned all aside. Overall a solid effort from the entire team to get us back into the win column.

Standings were posted and we are in ‘Norway’ division with the Icebergs, LPC, Boston River Rats, DRL Dawgs, Icemen, Tr. 138 Autobody, and the Brandeis Judges.
As always, anything neshl is subject to change.
I likely can’t make it Thursday night, but we are playing Digitas, who are 0-6 with 10 goals for and 45 goals against, so SHOOT!
