Penalty Trouble Dooms Kings, Fall to Icemen 6-2

The Kings lead for the first half of the game 1-0, unfortunately missing several chances to extend our lead, which cost us in the end.  Perhaps a little more than halfway through the second, the Kings got themselves in penalty trouble, with Fran picking up a double minor for high sticking, and Bermy putting the Icemen on a 5-3 with a penalty for abusing guys in front of the net.  The Kings killed 1:15 of the 5-3 but finally coughed up a goal.  The Icemen continued their onslaught potting a goal on the 5-4 to take a lead they would not relinquish.  The Icemen had expanded their lead to 3-1, but Bob slapped one home from above the face-off circle early in the third.  However, more penalties and loose defensive zone play leaving Icemen wide open in front of the net unguarded added to the deficit.  The hated Rodgiguez, whom the Kings kept contained for most of the game, tacked on two breakaway goals in the final four minutes, one short-handed, the other even strength.  The game could have been very different.
The most intriguing proposition of the night came from Bermy, who may be able to acquire a PALLET of PBR (!!!!!!!!!!!) from one of the guys on the Young Guns that works for a beer distributor.   The face value of PBR 30 racks is around $15ish, but this deal might get that down to $10 a 30 rack for the Kings.  Bermy was going to investigate further and we may be collecting $20 for the beer fund on Sunday night.  Kings that don’t participate in the after-party are still encouraged to participate.
