Kings close out disappointing summer with loss to Icemen, 3-1

Tuesday August 19, 2008 – Walter Brown Arena

A dismal summer regular season came to a close with a 3-1 loss to the Icemen at BU last night. The Kings offense never got settled and the defense had to contend with odd-man rushes all night, but with some great saves by Ed kept the score to 1-0 until Bermy blasted a slapper past the Icemen’s goalie. Neither team traded really good chances until an Icemen player stuffed home a loose puck late in the third. The Kings showed some signs of life in the late going, including a few shots through traffic in the last two minutes, but the Icemen were able to break out and pot an empty-netter for the win.

The playoffs start tomorrow, 7pm down in Dedham against Anarchy. Please check in, if you haven’t already, on whether you can make it. Also we may be light for our two games on Monday and Tuesday – if anyone’s on the fence about going, see if you can rearrange your schedule so we can get a good turnout.
