Tuesday January 29, 2008 – Canton Sportsplex

A flurry of goals in the 2nd helped the Kings climb out of an early deficit and hang a 6-3 victory on the Judges last night in Canton. The Judges came out flying from the first drop, pinning the Kings in the defensive zone and coming up with a score on the first shift. The Kings tied it up when Mike Rizzitano chipped a loose puck past the Judges goalie looking to freeze it and dumped it in the empty net. Beyond that the Judges goalie made some great saves to keep his team in the game, including a sprawling windmill save on Alan, trying to bury a sharp centering pass from John. Alan finally broke through late in the first to give the Kings their first lead. The Kings racked up three goals in just over a minute of play at the end of the second period, including a preposterous softball lob over the shoulder of the goalie. With just over three seconds left on a faceoff in the offensive zone, Bermy fired a loose puck into the net just before time expired to push the lead to 5-1. The Judges didn’t go away, scoring a pair of power play goals to climb within two, but the Kings locked down and Ed made some killer saves including a glove save on a breakaway to preserve the lead. Alan notched another one just as time expired to seal the win.
