Kings lose battle with Brawlers, 1-4

Thursday January 3, 2008 – Asiaf Arena Brockton

Two penalty shots, dozens of scoring chances and a smothering forecheck weren’t enough to beat the Brawlers and their goalie last night as the Kings lost 4-1. John got the Kings on the board early in the first, and the puck stayed mostly in the Brawlers end for half the game. John got two penalty shots, probably a record for the NESHL, one after he was hooked on a clear breakaway and the other when a defender fell on the puck in the crease, but those and many more were turned away by the Brawlers goalie. Ed made some tremendous saves to hold the lead but the Brawlers broke through in the second to tie it, and scored 3 goals in just a few minutes in the third to seal their win.
