Kings top East Coast Ticket 6-5
Tuesday December 18, 2007 – Walter Brown Arena
Despite missing several key players due to the holiday break, the Kings came out on top of a shootout with East Coast Ticket last night at Walter Brown. After giving up a goal less than a minute into the game, Wally notched the equalizer, carrying the puck in on the left wing and firing a low wrister from the faceoff circle. East Coast would take the lead back but Pete and John tied it again on a fantastic two on one. Pete carried the puck on the right wing and fired it to center where John tipped it into a wide open net. The Kings would erase another East Coast lead when Mike Ryan banged home a loose puck in front of the net, and finally took the lead when Josh buried a rebound from Frank’s shot. East Coast tied it up again but, on a delayed hooking penalty the Kings were able to get an extra attacker for a few seconds and cycle the puck a little. Frank got a nifty shot on a rebound but the goalie kicked the net off before it could count. On the ensuing faceoff in the East Coast zone, Josh won a clean draw back to the point, and Bryan threaded a pass to Bermy parked on the corner of the crease, who one-timed it home for another lead. East Coast got the goal back on a flukey goal that bounced off Ed’s head, but with less than a minute to play, John got the gamewinner, firing a loose puck in front past the goalie. The win is the first for the Kings in more than a month. Stats will be up later tonight
