Kings tie Pirates 3-3

Tuesday December 4, 2007 – Canton Sportsplex

Josh scored with just over a minute left in the game to steal a point from the Pirates on Tuesday in Canton. The Pirates got the scoring started early in the first, but Josh got it back, scooping up a loose puck in the faceoff circle and wheeling an off-speed shot at the net that found the five hole. The Kings took the lead on Mike Rizz’s one-man rush into the Pirates zone late in the first, and held the lead until near the end of the second when a scrum in front of Ed ended up with the puck in the net. Early in the third a Pirates player took a clearing pass out of the zone, turned the defense and roofed it short side to take the lead. The Kings battled back, just missing on a number of scoring chances. John got mauled over and over, including a blatant crosscheck by the goalie that went uncalled, but the Kings would manage the tie when Josh took the puck off the low boards and dumped the puck into the net while racing across the crease.

Great goal Josh, you should get your skates sharpened every week.
See everyone on Tuesday. If we have an effort like that we’ll be back in the win column.
