Kings lose to Long Shots, 3-6

Tuesday October 23, 2007 – Canton Sportsplex

The Kings didn’t know much about the Long Shots going in, but they knew afterward how good they were, scoring six straight goals through a period and a half en route to an eventual 6-3 win and spoiling Wally’s triumphant return from shoulder surgery. Looks like Wally didn’t lose a step, scoring a goal with a helper from Paul early in the third.

The Kings got on the board early on a nice give and go for Jeff and Josh, who took the puck and buried it low short side from the right faceoff circle. The Long Shots got back on the board on an ensuing power play and would never look back, constantly challenging the Kings defense missing several of its core players. Pete, Josh and Burger spent time on the blueline and did a solid job stemming the tide, and Burger chipped in with a wrist shot from the blue line late in the third.
