Kings beat Brawlers 4-2

Thursday August 2, 2007 – Canton Sportsplex

After a tough loss on Tuesday the Kings bounced back into the win column with a solid showing against the Brawlers. Greg had a pair of goals in the first, including a nice power play strike, but a quick goal off the ensuing faceoff made it 2-1 at the end of 1 period. Bob scored on a shot through traffic from the left point to push the lead out again but once again the Brawlers came back within one on a Brett Hull crease violation goal. Despite really controlling the puck throughout the game and getting a ton of great looks at the net (Burger probably had seven or eight shots by himself), the Brawlers goalie kept it close through the entire game. Ed had another great game in net, stopping a couple 1-on-0 breakaways to hold the lead. The Kings finally pulled away when Jeff found a certain defenseman pinching into the slot who buried it in the top corner.

Burger you’re often in the right position to score. If you keep shooting they’ll find the back of the net.
Jeff also had an assist on Bob’s power play goal.
