Kings lose to East Coast Hockey 3-2

Tuesday May 29, 2007 – Quincy Youth Arena

The East Coast goalie was the story last night, getting a pad, glove or stick on just about everything thrown his way and frustrating the Kings offense for most of the game. Despite carrying the play for most of the game the Kings couldn’t overcome a couple of early unlucky bounces. Down 2-0 for most of the game, the Kings finally broke through with just about three minutes left to play on a seeing-eye wrister from the right faceoff circle into the top corner of the net. East Coast rebuilt their 2 goal lead almost on the next shift, but with 1:44 to play John put us back within one. With Keith off the ice and another power play lined up it looked like we might repeat our big comeback from a week ago, but it wasn’t in the cards as East Coast locked down, hitting every stick, arm and leg in reach to preserve the win.

tough loss, but a long season. the same old story. not enough goals too many penalties. goalie stood on his head or we made him look good-not sure which. see you guys next week.

We had a ton of chances, just couldn’t finish. With a three period effort like that we’re going to be winning some hockey games. I think we only had a few penalties.
Got to give Alan props for filling in on defense. We did not have to play a lot in our own zone, which made things easier, but it was still a solid effort.
Is Burger’s hold on the spare defensemen position in jeopardy?
